Tips and care for your candle
Before lighting the candle
- Trim the wick: keep it to ~5 mm before each use to avoid excessive flame and smoke.
- Stable surface: Place it on a firm, heat-resistant, non-flammable base.
- No drafts: Avoid them to prevent uneven burning and soot.
While the candle is lit
- Melt to the edges: On first use, let the wax melt from wall to wall to avoid the “tunnel effect.”
- Maximum 4 hours: Do not keep it on for more than 4 hours at a time to avoid overheating.
- Never leave unattended: keep away from children, pets, and flammable materials.
After extinguishing the candle
- Do not blow out the flame: use a candle snuffer or place the lid on it to extinguish it and avoid wax splashing.
- Reuse the jar: Clean it with hot, soapy water when it has cooled completely.
Extras to extend the life of the sail
- Store it well: in a cool, dry place and away from direct sunlight or extreme heat.
- Center the wick: If it moves, carefully straighten it while the wax is still warm for even burning.
